Be a good listener. Everyone appreciates someone who would think, ponder, and wonder about what their words mean and why it holds importance. There are many people in this world who love to blab, but very few true listeners. It means a lot when someone speaks and a person is focused on listening. Words exist for a reason: they are meant to be heard. Show that you care about a person by listening to them. It does not mean you need to shut up and stare (although it helps to look at them so they would know you’re paying attention). It means you understand them and their expression. Sometimes a person just needs to express themselves to someone they could trust.

Life is short, so please try to enjoy each day. You never know when you’re going to die. You got to love and enjoy yourself in order to make other people’s day happier, or better! Show the people that you know that you love them by showing them and not dragging them down if you can handle any pressure! Try not to complain to them or whine about their irritating deeds, and help others out to the point where you find acceptable and where you can handle. Find your threshold. Most of all, be happy. Life’s gonna fly by, and it won’t wait for you!

Go ahead and meditate. Give a bit of breathing time to yourself so you don’t feel overwhelmed or stressed out with daily life. Take ten minutes or thirty minutes out of your day if it’s possible. Hey, if time really is important, five or ten minutes wouldn’t hurt if it’s for you. When you meditate, you do not necessarily have to hum or empty your mind. Meditation is a form of relaxation, where you focus on relaxing thoughts and ideas to help you through your day. You would be surprised to see how that would change your day. Hopefully it would be enough to lower down the stress level everyone lives with!

Need integrity? Pretend your mother, father, or guardian is over your shoulder the entire time, every moment and every second of your life. Being truthful in all you do is much easier when there’s someone to witness what you do, even if the witness is someone in your imagination. If that doesn’t work, then keep truth and honesty up in the front of battlefield, and watch yourself. Take pride when you do the right thing, and learn from the mistakes you do. Integrity is a wonderful trait to have! It’s also especially an attractive quality.

Here’s another first date tip! After meeting with a lovely lady or a lovely guy, and you guys plan to go out, find a nice place. Make sure it’s modest and decent, so they would know you are not the cheap kind of person. Instead of going to regular McDonalds or fancy Ruth Chris Steakhouse, try somewhere modest but affordable. Olive Garden and Applebee’s are two good places to go to eat out during a date without necessarily piling up the bill. Seriously, you do not want to give the wrong impression that you are cheap or overwhelming rich. Be at the center, and gain the center!

Now this is a twist. Don’t date if you have a hidden agenda! If you are only dating someone to get to their body, or to use their money, halt right there and turn around. Dating is about loving a person, not what they have or how they look like. So before you go any further, march up and think about whether you are using a person or not, and figure out why you do the things you do. Using people won’t necessarily make you happy in the long run, although it may in the short. Word of advice: date to seek love, not just fun.

Be sure to keep your hands off at your first date! Come on ladies and gentlemen. Is this a date or a one night stand? It’s a date, so keep it as a date. Your hands should always be at your side, and if you simply MUST touch the other, then a brush of the hand, or leading the other using the small of their back should be the closest touch during the date, unless a kiss is involved. Otherwise, your hands are yours, and their body, theirs. I’m not saying you have to be a stiff-neck! Just show each other a little bit of r-e-s-p-e-c-t!

Avoid burping or farting loudly! While you could easily be yourself, try not to do that during a first date. It usually is a major turn off for most people, either guy or girl. Even if you guys know each other for a good while, and know that the other burp/fart and you guys like that sort of deal, it’s best to keep them on the low if you two date. That means you hold respect enough for the other to not distract them with body functions and noise. Keep respect high on the first date. That usually sets off the initial chance on whether you guys would be good together or not!

Never talk about past relationships on a first date! That’s an easy mistake a lot of people fall into. While its fun to talk and open up, talking about the past ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend will make it seem as if you are not over them. Instead, open up the conversation with something both you and the other could relate to, let it be sports, arts, or just simply how you guys are at the moment. Keep it real, and make it so that you don’t seem obsessive about your past. Dating is moving to the now! Not staying in the past.
